These can be chores around the house or completing their homework assignments in school, the possibilities are honestly endless. Plus it’s a great way to not only reward them for their hard work but also teach them how count and to be responsible with money!

Great reward sytem for kids

These reward bucks and chart are a great way to teach your little one how to work for what they want. We have always loved using reward systems with our kids, I feel if they’re going to put in the extra effort they should be rewarded for it. Of course they don’t earn for everything, you can pick and choose what you pay them for.

So if there are standard chores they should be doing every day, you don’t want to include those on this list. This list should include chores you feel are above and beyond their normal daily routines.

How to use these bucks

Using this reward system is simple! The bucks are provided for you to print off as many as you need, I recommend printing and laminating them so they can easily be reused as much as you need.

First you’ll want to print off the reward chart below (choose from two different styles!). On this list you’ll want to include chores you want to pay your child for. This could be simple tasks like making their bed or more in-depth tasks like sweeping and mopping. Keep it inline with your child’s abilities. Here are a few we like to use:

1. Make your bed
2. Put away toys
3. Read a book
4. Take out the trash
5. Help put groceries away
6. Sweep the porch

Then, after you’ve filled out the chores you’ll want to start adding in items they can use their reward bucks for along with how much they cost. These can be all sorts of things, here are a few of our favorites:

1. Special dessert/treat
2. Pizza night
3. Family movie night
4. Extra screen time
5. Extra play time before bed
6. Skip a chore
7. New book of choice
8. Trip to the dollar store

Make sure to include prices for these that add up to a worthwhile amount. For example, if you make it to where your child earns $5 for making their bed and it costs $5 for ice cream – they’re going to be asking for ice cream every night! Haha.

And then, once you’ve filled out the chart you’ll want to print off your money! Make sure to print multiple sets so you can have some on hand to provide “change” with. Then when your child completes their item you’ll pay them the allotted amount for that task. So if you have sweeping the porch for $2 and they complete it you’ll give them $2 in reward bucks.

They can earn bucks as often as you want and redeem them whenever they want! They can save the bucks to get something big like a new toy or cash or use them a little at a time for smaller events/treats. It’s completely up to you how you want to use this system!
