My family has always adored camping, heading out into nature and taking a much needed break from work and electronics. It’s truly blissful! But I am also a realist that sometimes kids get outside and have no idea what to do haha. So I felt a fun camping scavenger hunt was just the thing to prompt them to explore and learn so many new things at the same time!

This activity truly isn’t about the end result, as cliche as it sounds it’s all about the journey. On their way to find a fish or bear they may run across animals and bugs they’ve never seen, find really cool rock formations or just stop and explore! Whatever they come across they are outside exploring nature which is the ultimate goal.

Camping scavenger hunt for kids

This printable (like many others on the site) is geared towards little ones, with some easy to find items like a flashlight and first aid kit to more in-depth things like a bear and fish. Kids will have fun trying to find all the items on their hunt list before the camping trip is over!

Once they find an item on the list they will check it off and head onto the next! And if you have more than one child you can turn it into a fun competition to see who can find everything first.
