Start the school year off right covering your little one in prayer with these printable backpack blessing tags!

Free printable backpack blessing tags
As a parent of two littles in elementary and middle school I completely understand how hard it is to send your child off to school each day. Between bullying, peer pressure and other things I hesitate to mention.. it’s a lot. It’s a lot for any adult and so much harder for a child. With all that goes on in the world the best thing we can do is give to God and trust Him.
These backpack blessing tags are just that.. covering your child (or any child you know!) in daily prayer so they know He is with them. On the bus, in the classroom, in the hallways.. He’s always there. And if you love these I highly recommend checking out my prayer for your children!
What exactly are blessing tags?
You may not have heard of these and that’s totally fine, there’s no better time than now to learn! Many churches and organizations hold a backpack blessing event at the beginning of the school year where they will pray over the child’s backpack before the school year so they’re covered in His word.
These tags are a great physical reminder of that prayer and to remind your child that they are loved, supported and prayed for. And it may even open up some fantastic conversations from others who see the tag on your child’s backpack!
What’s Included:
8.5×11 PDF with 8 blessing tags per sheet

Supplies Needed:
Below are the supplies I recommend to get the best out of your new printable!
- Bright White Cardstock (not required but makes it pretty!)
- Printer (this HP ones my favorite)
- Self-Adhesive Laminating Sheets (not required but will make the tag last!)
- Hole punch
- String or ribbon to tie on your child’s bag
How to use your tags
Click the button at the bottom of the post to print off your tags, you can print a single sheet or multiple if you’re using them in your own church or family event! Then simply cut out the tag along the dotted lines. I also recommend laminating the tag to ensure it doesn’t get damaged with daily wear and tear, rain, etc.
One your tag is cutout and/or laminated you will want to punch a hole in the top and tie your ribbon or string of choice, whatever you prefer to use to attach the tag to your child’s bookbag. That’s it, the backpack is ready to go for the school year!
