Last year my daughter and I were watching an amazing movie called War Room (I highly recommend it!). In fact after this movie she asked us to pray for her salvation and she made the choice to accept Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. So to say that is a night that will forever be ingrained in this mama’s mind is an understatement!
Since then we have had many talks about prayer and how to pray, I realized in our conversations she wasn’t sure what to pray on most nights. And I realized I wasn’t either! Many nights I find myself praying for that day but not praying for long term things, or there were prayer requests I was given but had slipped my mind by the end of the day. Then we both remembered the movie we say and how the woman would make notes on things she wanted to pray on. Each day she prayed in her war room with all the things she had written down on her wall. We needed this! So, in came the prayer board. It’s twist off the typical “mood board” you’ve probably heard of.

A prayer board is a place where you write down all your prayers, things you want to speak to God about but may often forget throughout the day. At the end of the day (or anytime really) you’ll return to that board and pray over the things you have listed out.
Matthew 6:5–8 Says:
5 “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. 6 But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.”
Who can use a prayer board kit?
Anyone can use this, that’s the beauty of it! You can set it up for your family and place it in your common area like your kitchen or family room, or keep it more private and set it up in your bedroom or office.
However you want to use this board is completely up to you, you can even set it up in your church and allow members to add their own prayer requests. That way anyone passing by can pray for someone’s needs!
The point is to use it, that’s all.
And once a prayer has been answered simply fold it up and place it in the “Answered prayers” envelope. That way you can look back at any point and be reminded of how God is working on your life.
Of course, remember, not all prayers are answered the way we think they should be! God works in His time and His way.
