If you’re new to Elf On The Shelf I highly recommend to first read the Elf On The Shelf book, explaining how the elf works and the rules that should be followed. This is key to learning how it all works and introducing your child to their very own elf!
After your child meets their elf you’ll spend each evening moving it to a new position to show that it left and came back from visiting Santa. And most times, when it comes back, it got into something over night! This could be that the elf got into the flour bin and is coated in flower or, like this game, they were up all night playing tic tac toe! There are so many fun and creative ways you can pose your elf.

How to set up this game
The included printable has a game board and game pieces. So you’ll first want to print the PDF at the bottom of this post. After you’ve printed your copy you can cut out the tic tac toe game board, this will be what the elf is playing!
You’ll then want to print off each game piece, instead of Xs and Os this game uses red and green Christmas trees for a fun festive feel! Print off each game piece and set it up however you’d like. You can have the elf playing by himself and waiting on the kids to make their move or have the elf playing another of your child’s toys, like a dinosaur!
