I am a huge fan of schedules and checklists, mainly because I have many type A tendencies but I am also quite overwhelmed being a business owner, mom, wife, house cleaner, chef, and anything else you can think of. It’s a daily struggle man, i’m sure most of you get it.
I am often writing my kid’s checklists when we do our in-depth biweekly house cleaning and i noticed how easy it was for them to stay on task when they could visually check items off as they went along. So why can’t this same method work for adults? And, even more so, why am I spending my Saturdays every other weekend cleaning my house!?
So with that in mind I worked up a weekly cleaning schedule checklist! It’s an age old concept, I know I am not the first to think of it haha. But I made this one with a goal of being able to tackle room by room each day so you’re not overwhelmed. And, most importantly, you’re also not spending your entire weekend cleaning!
Weekly House Cleaning Schedule
I have this list broken down into each day of the week and a part of the house assigned to each day. So, on Monday, you would work on the kitchen and clean in there. Tuesday you would work on the bedrooms and clean there, so on and so on. The best part is you can clean anytime during the day that works for you! This weekly house cleaning schedule is meant to work for you, not against you.
If you have more flexibility in your schedule you may want to tackle your tasks first thing in the morning. Or, if you work a 9-5 you may find it easier to tackle your list in the evening. Whatever works best for you! Don’t feel you have to do this list alone! I highly encourage getting your family together and everyone pitch in. I am often telling my girls we function as a team, it’s not mom or dad and then everyone else.. we work together. Having that team mindset has truly changed how they look at our house task!
